The Tahina-Can Expedition is a travel journalism training project promoted by the Autonomous University of Barcelona which, for the past 20 years, has offered university students the opportunity to learn journalism on the ground in an international context. The 2026 edition will take place in Vietnam and is open to Journalism undergraduate students at UMH who wish to take part in an intensive experience of practical workshops in television, photojournalism, print journalism, and social media, combining travel, teamwork, and real journalistic content production.

During the trip, participants attend daily workshops organized around three main specializations:

  • Television

  • Photojournalism

  • Print journalism and social media

The aim is for students to work on location, in teams and under the coordination of professionals, producing journalistic content based on first-hand travel experience.

At present, the organization is in the student selection process for this new expedition. This is an opportunity to take part in an intensive hands-on learning experience, designed to strengthen skills in journalistic storytelling, fieldwork, and content production across different formats.
