The curricula of UMH Bachelor’s degrees include the acquisition of competencies through the completion or accreditation of a subject called “Center Electives”.

Completion of this subject can be achieved in the following ways:

• Passing elective subjects within the student’s current degree program.

• Passing subjects from other degree programs in the same field of knowledge.

• Accrediting transversal and professional activities, such as:
  – University cultural, sports, student representation, solidarity, and cooperation activities.
  – Mobility programs.
  – Knowledge of foreign languages and Valencian.
  – Internships in companies or institutions and internal UMH internships.
  – Attendance at scientific conferences, fairs, scientific-technical exhibitions, artistic exhibitions, and professional development or specialization courses. 

Procedure for requesting credit recognition for Transversal and Professional Competencies

• Deadline:
  
  • Requests for subjects from other degree programs in the same field: September 1–30.
  • Requests for other activities (cultural, sports, languages, etc.): any time, except from July to October.
  • Students who are about to finish their studies may request credit recognition at any time. 
• Where to apply: Corresponding Campus Management Centre.

• Documentation required: Original supporting documents and a copy for verification. 

Important considerations:

• Activities must be completed during the academic years in which the student is enrolled in the degree, except for language accreditation.

• Language proficiency must be certified by institutions authorized to verify the levels established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

• Activities must be organized and accredited by UMH authorities.
