UMH Languages
The IRIS UMH and LLUMH programs offer free training in English and Valencian to the entire UMH community, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral students, faculty and research staff (PDI), administrative and service staff (PAS), Alumni, and companies within the UMH Science Park.
Both programs follow a blended learning model, combining online training via an interactive platform with in-person classes held across the four UMH campuses.
IRIS UMH
To promote and enhance English language learning, UMH, through the Language Center, offers the IRIS UMH blended learning program.
The main goal is for all students, upon completing their degree, to obtain the B2 – FIRST Certification from Cambridge University, for which the UMH Language Center is an Official Examination Center, or certification through ACLES.
The program is also open to faculty and research staff (PDI), administrative staff (PAS), Master’s and Doctoral students, Alumni, and employees at UMH Science Park companies.
IRIS UMH consists of 7 courses:
- A2: At the end, students can take the official Cambridge English A2 exam.
- B1.1: Equivalent to the first part of B1.
- B1.2: Equivalent to the second part of B1. Students may take the official B1 exam (Preliminary) through Cambridge English or ACLES.
- B2.1: Equivalent to the first part of B2.
- B2.2: Equivalent to the second part of B2. Students may take the official B2 exam (FCE-First) through Cambridge English or ACLES. IRIS students benefit from a discounted exam fee for the FCE-First exam.
- NEW: C1.1: Equivalent to the first part of C1.
- NEW: C1.2: Equivalent to the second part of C1. Students may take the official C1 exam (Advanced) through Cambridge English or ACLES.
LLUMH
What is LLUMH?
The LLUMH program aims to promote the learning and use of Valencian, the official language of the Valencian Community. The goal is for all UMH community members to acquire the necessary knowledge and certify their level through official organizations such as CIEACOVA, Junta Qualificadora de Coneixements en Valencià, or EOI.
LLUMH is a free, blended Valencian language program for the UMH community, promoted by UMH and managed by its Language Center. Training is delivered via an interactive platform plus one hour of in-person class per week.
LLUMH consists of 4 levels:
- B1
- B2
- C1
- C2
