Meeting with Rosa Rodríguez, Winner of Pasapalabra

Actividades

11 February 2026

The winner of the largest jackpot in the history of Pasapalabra, amounting to €2.716 million, will take part in a series of open dialogue sessions focused on television, general knowledge, and media narratives. The activities will take place on:

  • March 4, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. (Classroom 3, Atzavares Building)

  • March 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Classroom 6, Atzavares Building)

This activity, promoted by the Department of Spanish Literature and the Chair of Audiovisual Analysis and Foresight, is linked to the study of television culture, knowledge dissemination, and the construction of media narratives. Rosa Rodríguez appeared in 307 consecutive episodes of the show. The broadcast in which she won the jackpot achieved a 36.8% audience share, with 3,696,000 viewers, ranking among the most-watched television events of the year.

Beyond its audience impact, the case holds academic interest due to its connection with general knowledge culture, processes of knowledge acquisition and dissemination, the narrative logic of television quiz shows, and the socio-professional profile of the contestant, who worked as a university lecturer at a Catalan university prior to her participation. The activity aims to create a space for direct conversation about television, knowledge, media culture, and personal experience within the contemporary audiovisual industry.

With the objective of bringing this experience into the classroom and fostering critical analysis from the perspective of communication and audiovisual studies, two open dialogue sessions have been scheduled for students:

Wednesday, March 4, 4:00–6:00 p.m.
Classroom 3, Atzavares Building
For second-year students of Audiovisual Communication (CAU), the Double Degree in Audiovisual Communication and Journalism (CAUP), and Cultural Journalism

Thursday, March 5, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Classroom 6, Atzavares Building
For second-year Journalism students
