AMIC Nous Talents is a competition where communication students and young people aged 18 to 25 can win up to €1,000 by creating content in Valencian through new formats for social media.

Participants may also have the chance to obtain paid internships in media outlets by taking part in the initiative. The competition focuses on creating a local news communication project in either short video or podcast/video podcast format.

How the Competition Works:
The contest consists of two phases:

  1. Creative Phase: Participants create a local news communication project in short video or podcast/video podcast format. Participants can compete individually or in pairs and must choose one of four categories:

    • Culture

    • Leisure and tourism

    • Local news

    • Sports

    They must also develop a project brief demonstrating its feasibility and potential application in a local media outlet, including practical examples according to the chosen format.

  2. Internship Phase: Finalists are invited to “La Masia del Nou Talent”, an in-person day of evaluative activities, including 2–5 challenges related to time management, teamwork, and content creation. At the end of the day, the jury selects the winners for each format. In March 2026, winners and finalists will have the opportunity to participate in paid internships (4 months, part-time) at participating media outlets.

Schedule:

  • 22 Sept 2025 – 5 Jan 2026: Creative phase and project submission

  • January 2026: Announcement of finalists

  • January–February 2026: La Masia del Nou Talent activities

  • From March 2026: Selection and placement for paid internships

Prizes:

  • Phase 1 (Creative Projects): €1,000, €500, and €250 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively.

  • Phase 2 (Internships): Finalists and winners can complete 4-month paid internships at participating media outlets.

Organiser:
The AMIC (Associació de Mitjans d’Informació i Comunicació), with over 28 years of history, represents more than 600 publications in print, digital, and audiovisual media across Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, the Valencian Community, and Northern Catalonia, with a total print circulation of 1.3 million and over 22.9 million unique digital users per month.
